I'm looking for a hosting provider that provides trailing
(on-going) commission for the referral of clients. I'm not after a re-seller account.

I have run my own hosting company in the past and sold it, so not hosting illiterate - my current business provides web development services and I don't have the desire to offer hosting support anymore. I 'm aware of at least one other company that is looking for the same offering as me currently and will put them in touch with the most suitable candidate.

The provider MUST be able to offer the following:

• A decent commission - it needs to be worth my while
• Windows 2008 R2 Shared Hosting
• ASP.Net 2 - 4
• SQL Server 2008 R2
• Reasonable Bandwidth and Disk Space
• A good web-mail client like SmarterMail or Zimbra

If the provider also offers Windows cloud servers this would also be a very big plus - some of our projects require something more specialised and I would prefer to deal with only one company.

After talking to Fluccs/Web Hosts Australia - it turns out they do not offer 20% trailing commission - or any form of trailing commission.

Is there any other company out there apart from the Westnet Agent network that does?

How much space and bandwidth do you actually foresee these websites needing? Is 20% commission the amount you're after?

To be honest most of our websites don't need a heap of bandwidth or diskspace, but there does need to be capacity for growth - I would expect the following would be more than enough:

- 5-10GB Bandwidth (in/out total) - most of this would be for growth, so if you were overselling you should be pretty right
- 1GB Diskspace
- If lower specs are offered then I would expect to see fair pricing on upgrades of both items

The websites will be predominantely running the Umbraco CMS and a E-Commerce solution that plugs into this for small businesses.

If 20% trailing commission was a possibility then I would certainly go for that - I have not seen anyone offering this yet, but keen to see any form of offer at this stage.
