Thumbs up Save money, move your servers back to Australia.

Greetings one and all.

Now is the perfect time to upgrade your overseas servers, by ordering a more powerful and less expensive Australian server!

The time has never been better to bring your customers back home to Australia.

Oz servers has increased capacity in our Brisbane datacenter and have provisioned space to handle an extra two thousand dedicated servers.

With full licensing availabilty from Parallels for Plesk, Cpanel, Microsoft server licensing and Redhat Enteprise linux, we can provide all of your dedicated server software requirements.

We have recently introduced load balacing, so if you have load-balanced pairs of servers that you wish to migrate to Australia, we can accomodate this for you.

Oz Servers is able to provide a full range of Unmanaged dedicated servers, Partially Managed and monitored dedicated servers where we'll actively restart your server or services, or Full Management where we'll perform backups, monitor the health of your server around the clock and proactively react when necessary to ensure your services and applications are delivered on the network to the highest standards.

And remember, Data within the Oz Servers datacenters are free and unmetered, and excess data is only charged at $1.10 per GB for anything you use over our generous data allowances.

Re: Save money, move your servers back to Australia.

No, no free potatoes

Here's the thing.

Incentive #1. The Exchange rate has changed the the point where its now more affordable to purchase an Australian dedicated server at current market rates than overseas market rates.

Incentive #2. Hardware costs are going up up up for Australia, but we're keeping our customer costs the same and absorbing the impact of the drop in value of the Australian dollar. (Gee, Aren't we nice).

No free potatoes, but if you buy locally grown, you get to eat more, not to mention keeping more Australian dollars within Australia.

-Sean.

If you get a server with 1TB included, then you'll get charged for 1 extra TB of data at $1,100 .

By Australian standards, this is spot-on.

It makes more sense to get a server with 750gb included in it if, and once you hit 750GB just get a second server.

When was the last time you had a single server go over 1TB of usage?

Re: Save money, move your servers back to Australia.

US Providers offer 2500Gb for half that price in AUD.
You need to do a promo or offer a large amount of data to get Aussies interested.
perhaps offering an extra 300Gb Data or even free peering with major providers like PIPE, WIAX, UECOMM, etc would help (and not just within the DC, have it Nation Wide).

That's just my Though...

if AUS bandwidth cost peanuts like it does in the states there'd be nothing stopping providers over here offering it. The difference in pricing is so high it's retarted

David

I don't think it is appropriate for you to come into another company's advertising thread and tell them how they should be promoting their business

Welcome to WHT AU and congrats on your first 5 posts

Cheers
Angus

Thanks for the congrats, and as I stated, it was MY thought..

AU Providers, need to make it more appealing.
The only reason why I'm AU is because of latency, otherwise I would be jumping to the US.

Also if they didn't want feed back, then just ask for a closed thread after posting... This would stop people from commenting.
I hope this place doesn't turn into a whinge pool, merely a place were people can contribute constructive thoughts of products.

WHAT ?????

Mate People don't post advertising threads cos they want your ideas on what their services should be or how they should promote them - get over yourself

They want to promote their service and unless you are interested in buying from them or see some false claim or potential danger for a client - stay the hell out of it

Read my Lips

Advertising Section

General chat

See the difference ?

Hope your latency improves

Hello,
I think you need to take a chill pill mate.
The better thing you could of done was to PM me instead.
This would of been a mature and well mannered method.

You have now turned it around and tried to start a flame fest...
Please feel free to express your opinions to me or about me either via PM or to an admin...

In regards to replying here, about my thoughts, It was a suggestion, nay merely a thought.

PS: Latency is awesome atm.

Shame you didn't think to practice what you preach and pass on your thoughts to the OP via PM instead of going right off topic in their advertising thread then isn't it

Sales query > post in relevant ticket

Unrelated opinion > General Chat section

Understanding the difference yet?

Cheers

Thumbs up Re: Save money, move your servers back to Australia.

David, Meet Albator.

Albator, Meet David.

David: We try to offer the best bundled deals possible within Australia, and you're perfectly correct, our main competition is the US, and the giant volume of traffic that they offer, however, i can confidently say that...

1. On unmetered servers that we have provided as testing in the past, not one has topped 1TB, and only 1 has topped 1TB of transfer.

2. Of metered bundled servers, and of this we have very many:
Most hosts wont use the 2.5TB quotas offered to them by US hosts, and 300GB, 500GB, 750GB and 1TB of data that we offer with our current packages, I feel, is current and at the leading edge in packaged data for Australian servers.

3. Oz Servers offers unmetered data between servers. The 2.5TB you get with the major 5 US dedicated server provides counts local traffic as well as Internet traffic.

This means you would use about 1TB a month of your quota for cross-server backups.

Oz Servers does not charge for data between servers within the datacenter, or between your server and backup servers.

When you consider the current exchange rate, and compare apples with apples, bang-for-bucks for what you'll end up using, Australian servers are starting to make perfect sense.

Please, all, feel free to continue the discussion.

I'm in the Blue corner boxing for Australian hosting here, so bring it on

Cheers,
Sean.

Cheers,
Sean.
I use Aussie and will continue to do so as my products require Aussie based connections.

I also understand that you guys offer generally great deals.

That being said, I know a few people that do use over 1TB and have had to get servers in US and other places like France as they cant get the bandwidth here for a reasonable price.

My only thought is why can providers (some not all) offer free peering with colo and/or racks pace and not with dedicated servers, If I saw that from a company I would jump on it.

I have had friends and competition use your services in the past and they have said that you offer good support and also have a decent network (another point you could bring up is that the time zones for support are local compared to the US).

That being said allot of people still want something more and even if its a little more they will jump on it, faster then a kangaroo.

As for Albator, I have chosen to ignore all remarks made by him/her that aim to attack, irritate or both, as they are not worth earning a ban hammer from....
