I currently have Windows VPS hosting at RackForce in Canada that I currently use almost primarily for FTP hosting (Windows due to a previous project and lack of Linux experience). I pay US$99 for 1GB RAM, 30GB partition, 10Mbps unmetered traffic and 2 fixed IPs, and Fortigate firewall.

I also host a small number of Drupal websites on reseller hosting with Cove and Jumba.

I want to move the FTP hosting and perhaps the web hosting to a Linux VPS with CPanel in Melbourne (or Sydney if nothing available in Melbourne).

For the FTP hosting alone I will need at least 30-40GB free space and as an estimate say 50GB of traffic (used just under 40GB last month - need to check with RF if that is one or both directions and I only know the current and previous month as they don't provide history).

Web hosting I would need Cpanel as that is what I am used to.

The issue I have with Linux VPS is that I am not a Linux admin (far from it) so I would also need support/admin included that would cover things like installing, patching and updates, and troubleshooting the Linux install. I wouldn't want to be doing much to it once it is working, with the only potential application to install being Kayako helpdesk software and my server monitoring agents.

Online backup storage would be ideal also, although backing up the FTP site is not critical but I will need to do daily backups of the web sites.

Room for growth is essential with the ability to upgrade disk, RAM, traffic, etc.

Thanks for the response, however your default VPS options do not match my requirements above and it seems you have not indicated how much the support costs for Linux installation and administration.

To clarify your questions, we do not charge anything for the installation and configuration of a standard cPanel environment, we have a zero setup charge policy.

cPanel its self can be configured for auto updates, although to patch the Linux kernel / operating system changes etc this would require support. Our support packages start from $75 per month upwards and price is dependent on the level of support and SLA you require. Support can be used for both spontaneous issues, or project issues 24 hours a day over the phone.

cPanel is $30 per month for a Virtual Dedicated License. I would recommend our VM Ultimate with 2GB of memory, 2000ghz CPU and 30GB disk space, if you require more processing power or disk space this can grow as you need it to grow.
