I would recommend looking at our Micron21 Extreme Virtual Dedicated server which comes with 1gb of memory, 1500mhz CPU and 20gb diskspace. I would then upgrade the diskspace to your required 40gb.
From a backup point of view all of our Virtual Dedicated Servers come with FTP storage to the same size of your disk space, so you can setup automatic scripts or if your going to run cPanel on this server we would configure this for you. Our Solution would be a total turn key solution providing you a pre configured to your specification Linux Virtual Dedicated Server pre harden.
You might also be interested in our Live Virtual Dedicated Server backups where we take an entire copy of the Virtual Dedicated Server Daily, Weekly and Monthly to give you a DR plan for the entire server, allowing you to recover a single site, or the entire operating system to any restore point.
