Hello there, i need someone who has server in Sydney, and allows me to go there to upload approx 100 gb video onto his/her server, and keep it there until my European partner downloads it or remote upload them to the rapidshare. It is important to give me personal access to the server, or i can give my Hd for you to upload that video. It is btw 100 minutes HD quality video about sydney hotels, and tourist things.
So the point is again: i just want to avoid to upload it, because I tried to do it to rapidshare, but it would use up all of my monthly limit and it would take 100 hours or more.

Any help would be appreciated.

Wouldn't it be faster and easyer to cut it to DVD and just mail it to your mate overseas? It'd be a lot cheaper then paying for the storage and Bandwidth. If your having to wait for them to download it.

Well it would be cheaper get a 30 pack of DVD's for 40$ or whatever.

10$ in postage. alot cheaper then the Bandwidth.

Even a 160GB hard drive would be cheaper than that, and easier. Just pack and post?

That would be my recommendation too.

It would be heavier might get stiffed on the postage.
Plus I don't like the chances of the HDD getting there in one peice
DVD's are light

You send it registered post and jam it full of that bubble cr*p it will be fine.

I've sent servers all over the place and not once has there been an issue with it, and a hdd is much light and more compact + its only one part so the chances of a cord coming loose aren't as high.

Or if its 100% that it needs to be on a server, then why don't you go on ebay and buy one of the old 'pre-loved' servers for not much, and colocate it in a datacenter, then you can just transfer the files from your hard-drive to its and stick it in the rack.

Then all you need to do is pay for 108 worth of bandwidth.

This will still be a much more expensive option, but saves the cost of you paying for 108gb worth of uploads on a home connection.

My point about the HDD was that there shock sensitive so if even if it's wrapped in bubble wrap you'd wanna be careful.

Yeh guess your right, but if you put a "fragile" sticker on it, the posties don't throw it as hard

Guess we need to hear back from op now see what he thinks, unless its a "must do" uploading to a server seems like the most expensive way i can think of it

If you need server and don't want to colocate one like i suggested, find yourself a US server and upload it all to there, you should be able to get enough hdd and bw for less than $100 aussie $$.
