Group Pay allows you to have multiple people contribute to the one hosting bill. Some other hosting providers office such a service under the name of Clan Pay. It is a way of the people knowing that they money they are submitting is actually going towards the hosting bill.

This module runs on the back of your configured PayPal gateway. All customer deposits are added to the clients account as credit. The client does not see who has made the deposit, this information is however available to admins via the credit log in WHMCS.

This addon comes with fully configurable templates that act the same way as the existing whmcs templates.

A full user manual is provided with the system that explains how to customise the templated.

Its more aimed at the GSP market.
Atm the only one that does the "Clan Pay" is gameservers.com.
Depending on the feedback i may create another version with more options but well see how this goes. If it goes off like a cat in a bag i can see Matt implementing it in the core somehow.

Yah i think it may go big. And i can also see matt wanting to have it built in alot of people over on his forums were asking him to do it

and the clan pay was a real nice feature i liked it so did all the clan members..

So thats why in about 1 week ill grab that module will save customers alot of time gathering money into 1 bank or paypal account then sending it to me

My query is what happens if 5 people share payment for an account and 3 pay on time and 2 don't?

Yes that is what you do

Sounds like a way to create loads of work when the ones who pay complain that they have paid but the service is shut off

Yes I realise not everyone has paid and that is why it is suspended but I can see the support bill just escalating

How it works is the account is still registered to one person and they are solely responsible for it and/or any defaults.

The main idea of this is to allow this user to supply a link to others that they can use to be sure that the payment is going to the hosting (game/web).

The main issue with clans is that one person will be incharge of a "group" paypal account. Everyone will pay into this and then the owner will do a runner with the cash.

Using group pay the person that's contributing knows that this money is going to hosting because its paid directly to the hosting company.

Just let everybody contribute to a Paypal account and add a subscription for the payment of the bill. So you get all or nothing and there is no dispute about a possible suspension . Works with every billing panel.

Problem with this is that the owner of the account has the ability to do a runner with the other clan members cash. This was the other members of the clan know that the money is going directly to teh GSP/Hosting company.

I would prefer to have any risk of fraud/dispute/conflict to be with the members that prefer to join in a group, other than with the host, who has little contact with the clan members anyway. You are just relocating the center of problems. May be different problems, but problems still.

The risk is still with the one account holder how it has ever been.
All this mod allows is other members of the clan to submit funds they know will be going to the hosting provider, not some "mates" paypal account who could bail.

The risk on the hosts part does not change at all, i may have misunderstood the question. That aside the mod was created to full a gap in the market. I may not understand the need/want for the mod but its products for the masses
