I realise this may be short notice for some however if you live in the Hunter Region and own a 4wd or a motorbike and aren't doing anything on Sunday the 9th of November, a 4wd Trek and Bike Run has been organised to raise funds and awareness for this very worthy cause.
ABOUT SIDS & Kids
SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving babies' lives through the elimination of sudden and unexpected infant deaths, and providing bereavement support and counselling for families who have experienced stillbirth or the sudden and unexpected death of a child, whatever the cause, from 20 weeks gestation to 6 years of age (in Tasmania bereavement support is provided up to two years)
The SIDS and Kids organisation throughout Australia depend almost entirely on the generous and philanthropic spirit of the Australian community to continue its work. The organisation is largely self-funded through the Red Nose Day Campaign and associated activities.
ABOUT THE 4WD TREK & Bike Run.
Organisation of the 4wd Trek was brought about by James Brooks who lost his niece Chloe (23 months old) through SIDS, a bike Run was later organised to be held on the same day.
The trek will begin at Mt Sugarloaf for the 4WD's, Newcastle Foreshore for Bikes and will finish at Rathmines Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie. Departure time for both venues is 10am.
An entry fee of $25 will secure your 4WD’s entry, and $20 for bikes into the inaugural 4WD Trek and Bikers for SIDS and Kids Hunter Region. Entry Forms can be downloaded from the SIDS & Kids site
http://www.sidsandkids.org/hunter/do...kEntryForm.pdf and entry fee can be paid on the day.
Cheers
