Hey,
I thought with inet taking over WHT-AU that they weren't going to get rid of the aussie ads...
Well at least its good to see they waited about half a week :P
Guess its time for everyone to say good bye to WHT-AU :P

And for some of us lucky advertisers, they have decided to do our campaigns on www.webhostingtalk.com rather than here
The last thing we want on these forums is US advertising. It would also be nice to see iNet to come to these boards with us, and see what the community actually wants.

Yeah I saw your massive banner at WHT US Aaron, I guess it could work in your favour as they get a lot more hits than this forum does
But the other way around is just silly

They kept that finger width top frame thingo from WHTUS.
I'm out, now things are just screaming at me.

For those interested, I added the following to AdBlock Plus and now I don't see much (including that stupid header):
I deliberately avoided blocking ads previously but now, too bad.

I agree with AndrewM - it looks too much a like now, it doesn't have the aussie feeling about it.

Yuk yuk!
I come in this morning to find this!
Nooo! Gone are the days of the real WHT-AU feel and now it just has such an "American" feel to it (no offence Americans)
They have ruined our independence, our freedom and our rights.
God, I sound like a political activist!

Indeed, you to hightek! hehe.
But it's all very true, WHT-AU has come to an end I believe. There is no freedom nor independence left...

I agree, would be nice to have a different look and feel than WHT-US like it used to have.

in my opinion the design isn't so bad, in fact I like how the 2 forums (advertising and general forums) aren't split up by that big ad in the middle anymore

That too, but there is also the fact that I keep having to check the top logo and the URL to be sure I am on the right site!

Fast reply isn't working for me in this thread... I've typed two long posts already and lost them both because of some stupid invalid security token error.
To paraphrase those posts... this is crap... this forum has now lost it's point of difference from WHT and it would seem to me (from the outside) that the AU hosts are getting the shaft in favour of the bigger spending US companies.
One of the things I used to like about this forum was that all the advertising was for local hosts who actually had representation here and you could interact with them. I know my opinion probably counts for nothing in the big scheme of things but for me that was a big plus... now that the advertising seems heavily skewed in favour of OS hosts how long will it be before those local hosts start to abandon this forum and it loses most of its relevance to Australian customers?

Exactly and well spoken!
Everything is just becoming too commercialised and WHT-AU, I believe, was were we could all get away from that and just be...well..us!
It's all downhill from here. I can't see any benefit for Australian providers any more, now that the US cheap chip dollar dogs are in town.
It's all over...it's just a matter of when.
