Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

Don't get why people voted no.7 it's crowded, not fit for forum header.

no.2 is better so far. Keep it simple and neat.

no.1 logo that non-Australians will be curious why you have silly stars.

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

Number 1, but with the Southern Cross re-positioned and less opaque, at the moment, it seems crowded and overwhelming. Maybe do likewise with the "swooshes".

Or just number 3 without the flag for simplicity?

HostPac: I'm siding with Ashy. Either you care about the post count in which case you are just as guilty for using a post to tell him off instead of PMing him, or you have a problem with what he said. If the latter, there is nothing wrong with making a valid statement that he doesn't fancy any of the logos and that maybe some more effort should be put in.

EDIT: After seeing number 7 as it would look with the site, I think it's my new favourite. Not sure if I can change my vote though.

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

I agree with Ashy ... I'm not crazy about any of the logos. Maybe one of the options should be "None of the above"... And Hostpac, I've seen others post for no good reason (you posted twice just to argue with Ashy) .. and btw, who cares about "post count"?

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

I don't care about post count as I have been signed up to WHT-AU for years and clearly i'm not a hoster or advertiser anymore, so clearly post count isn't valued for me. But good job detering any future clientele with your smartass tough attitude online in a forum. As far as fenerli and speedy have said, the options aren't that apealing to me!!! Clearly they don't appeal to others either - just stating my opinion. If I had to choose one, i would choose #1.

Go gangsta!

Although I don't see how it's going to deter clients. We all know what clients are like these days and it takes a bit more than a few words on a forum to deter them....unless of course the forums name is ............ (<- insert commonly know whinging forum here)

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

I believe the poll to be rigged.

Seems strange that number 2 suddenly jumps to the lead after being at 9 votes for the previous 2 days and number 7 wich was kicking ass by 15 votes has barely gotten another vote...

I didn't think you could rig the vB Poll system?

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

Sorry but I can't vote for any of them.
The logo name is so clunky and the design requirements too complex. The use of the flag throughout all these designs make it all look a bit hokey. The designers have done well just to make something at all out of such a mash up of long names, whirlygigs, flags and registration marks. I'm not voting for any of them and think the owners should rethink the whole concept before getting stuck with another logo they're going to regret. Just because someone wins a poll on the internet does not have to mean that it's set in concrete.

I'm not being mean spirited and would suggest that all those who participated in this process of designing this logo might have had similar feelings about it.

Anyway...i'm happy for any feedback and wish the organisers and the winner well.

Cheers
russty

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

Not directed at any particular post, just the vibe of page 3...

I do agree with some of your points but the fact is, we had to use the WHT logo pretty much as is, the point was to make it clearly Australian and you all had the option to design your own entry if you really cared.

It would be possible to create multiple users and vote with them. The more likely reason for the jump is Gary's mail out the other day

Re: WHT-AU Logo Competition - Poll

I already have, and it wasn't an enjoyable experience. If I didn't have to incorporate the Aussie Flag with the existing design, or if the scope allowed for a complete re-design of the whole box and dice from scratch I'd probably get into it proper and give it the time it deserves, but within the current scope, ahem, well I'm not really interested in attempting to polish a turd.
