I do agree with some of your points but the fact is, we had to use the WHT logo pretty much as is, the point was to make it clearly Australian and you all had the option to design your own entry if you really cared.
It would be possible to create multiple users and vote with them. The more likely reason for the jump is Gary's mail out the other day

Actually, your probly right. I just seen that in my inbox.
Apologies :P

I will take that as a compliment, since the location of the Southern Cross and the Commonwealth Star are actually a significant piece of Australian history. Whilst you may feel the need to move them, I didn't since they have been that distance apart since 1908. (and the design of our flag was also done via a competition).
And since the brief was to use a copyright protected logo as the foundation I also did not move that around to fit my design.
Like someone else said, we worked with what was given to us.

When I logged in last night around 6.30 I was quite surprised to see there were 45 other members logged in as well made me feel like I wasn't the only one without a life Would also explain the massive jump in votes
Cheers

Gday Fenix thanks for the kind words on my logo idea.
Hey Gary a bit of feedback would have been nice. If all I needed to do to make the shortlist was to add a background I wish I'd known. I must admit after the good feedback on the design I was disappointed I didn't make the cut .
Please find attached my late entry? Took about 3 minutes to add the backgound and change the logo to use the existing colour scheme.
However it would need some tweaking to work better at 108 px high ie increase the size of the old logo and the words in relation to the Aust map.

I think perhaps in hindsight the contest is really for a header graphic not a logo.
Seven is a good bold header graphic but one/two are the best logos imo. Also by including one and two that are basically the same logo they effectively split the vote. So they don't really have much chance of winning. So preferential as suggested by someone else would be good.
Anyway its good to have a more arty less technical thread on WHT that I can contribute to so thanks.
Regards
Nick

I still like mine, but Nick's really is the most creative - if I can't have the glory, he should
The whole things has been a bit ham fisted really

Can you just restart he competition and open it up to everyone and just have a crack at whatever?
Seem's pretty stupid if we're all voting for something in which only a few people like.. or would want to be represented by.

Ashy, no ill intentions meant mate but it was open to everyone and those who wanted to have a crack at it did, all comps have a closing date as did this one, now it's time to vote for the entries that made it through. If you don't like any of them then don't vote, simple really, basically even if there were more entries it still doesn't mean more people would like the other contributions & the outcome of the voting would be no different as you'll still get people who would feel the same as you do
Cheers
Ros

I was just about to ask if the poll had closed, then I looked up. I guess it has.
