Cms

I am looking for a new content management system for our websites. The one we are using is fine, but wondering if there is a more user friendly one outthere. We are currently using ICMS and overall the customer reviews are fine.

We had to put an online tutorial together to help some of the customers who are still fresh to the whole website thing.

Is there a system out there that works like PowerPoint?

Re: Cms

I like Soholaunch's Pro Edition. While it's not strictly a CMS, it's a Site Builder which is almost the same thing, it's really easy to use. So easy that I use e-mail to instruct clients who to do their own content.

I'll install it, set up a few bits and pieces then let them do the rest. I also do constant backups while they fiddle.

The blurb from Soholaunch is pretty accurate:
Quote:
Short description: Beginner-friendly and expert-flexible. An arsenal of cooperative tools to help you build twice the website in half the time.
It installs on the server and mods are made in real time, also on the sever, using your browser. No stuff on the PC. You can also install chunks of HTML etc.

Cheers,

Mike

WordPress is a blogging tool, Expression Engine is a proper CMS.

Re: Cms

I've been pretty happy with Joomla, having played with it quite a bit, on and off, over a few years.

Must give SohoLaunch a go though - I've heard good things about it elsewhere too

Doh! Missed that bit. I've used it before for a really quick site for an unexpected event. It was handy as I had it up and running and the site done in only a couple of hours.

Re: Cms

personally i have a fair range of php knowledge so i made my own... less boat and easy to modify and keep it running smoothly. and less code = less potential security issues. and less usage also means its less likely to be attacked.
