Removing DB Registrations from Enterprise Manager

Hi All

I have number of SQL Server 2000 registrations in Enterprise Manager for databases that no longer exist and I want to remove them.

The problem I have is that when I click on them the delete icon is greyed out, so I can't delete them.

Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

Is this on your server or on your local Enterprise Manager software (i.e server registrations?)

Hi Brendan

The databases themselves are (were) remote, but yes I'm referring to my local Enterprise Manager software.

You're logged in as sa aren't you? If so then you should have permission to delete these databases.

Hi Gav

I don't want to delete the databases (they're already gone) it's the server registrations in Enterprise Manager that I'm trying to remove.

I'm logged in as sa (via my local Windows credentials) which is the same login I used to create the registrations.

But you might be on the right track - perhaps it is permission related somehow.

Do you mean when you right click on the server that is registered, the 'Delete' menu item is greyed out?

Doh!

That's it.

I was just looking at the red delete icon in the toolbar - I didn't look for the delete option in the right-click menu.

Thank you very much.
