Unfortunately this sh*t happens, but i think you will find this happens to all hosts.
I have been with a lot of aussie hosts for my needs, and at some time they have all had issues...
The fact of how hard they worked to fix this issue, and how honest they where is the type of thing which would make me want to stay with a host. Instead of trying to blame it on someone else, and instead of waiting for the next morning, They fixed the it straight away. What else can you ask for?
And i no you would love a world where 'nothing' ever goes down, but it does.
Its type of thing that makes me wanna host with them.
Good luck Shortcut + team

If this were an isolated incident then I'd be the first in line to pat them on the back for a job well done...however I've been planning my move away from them for a few months now as I need to move to a solution with more redundancy and less dependence on one datacenter.
I know this isn't a big deal on it's own, but thats why the saying is "straw" that broke the camels back..not anvil or 10 ton truck ;-)
The string of DDOS attacks, router outages etc etc just add up to time to move on.
Don't get me wrong...they've been great for the years i've been with them, I've just out grown what they can offer me.

Do you run game servers?
I think you will find ddos attacks arent isolated to just ozservers.. they happen to all.

Hey,
Then you have interpreted this thread wrong then, and you should of realised that setting up your server would be delayed because of this issue.
Re-capping: Freak incident, not a normal thing to have happen, you should of seen that the host you are going to be using for the next 6 months do 2 things.
Dont try and pass the blame onto someone else.
Work hard to fix errors when they have them.
And i think if you look hard enough you will see that all hosts have had issues that have been posted on WHT, its just this one was around the time of purchase for you.

What is there to feel 'sorry' about.
He ordered a product, and due to an error it isnt ready yet.
He had/should have read the fineprint, and should of been prepared for 6 month contract.
Have some patients, do what ozservers do, and keep your clients informed of why this downtime has occured... people appreciate honesty.
and unless you have overloaded your current machine, or have pre-booked clients, there shouldnt be any issues.

I dont yet host game servers with them.. but i no numerous people who do.
and when it comes to running game servers in brisbane, they are the only company i would go with.
They have fantastic support, and there prices are extremely good.
I wouldn't worry about them, a close friend of mine who has hosted with them at the moment loves there support and there service.
Im also going to imagine you probably ordered the server after work hours, so thats why they would have waited till day after to build, then they had the issue.
Be patient, it will be worth it ^^

3am. Server down again, phone offline.
Someone at OzServers needs to spend some money on at least an external website. INFORMATION is the only thing which keeps clients of a noc moving elsewhere (No help if your own site is affected by an outage). Apart from the brilliant efforts of 'Ed' from OzServers tech support, we would have moved all our clients to other boxes today.
When you can get hold of it, OzServers tech is great.

I agree its very frustrating not to have any info.
They absolutely NEED an external reporting page.
If they are not going to answer the phone then there needs to be some way of getting info.
My servers are up again but it seems www.ozservers.com.au is still down.
