just because you dont offer an unlimited plan doesnt mean it cant say *infinite* where it should say the maximum ammount.
my cpanel account with hightek says i have infinite storage capacity but im fairly sure the plan says around 10GB
as tomn said, it probably wasnt set up properly in the first place.

It'll be something like that that's happened to the OP. If you buy a $10 plan and end up with $10,000 plan, keeping and using it may amount to fraud.
I wouldn't want to have VCAT sort that out.

I seriously doubt that.
If the provider failed to set up the quota in the first place then it's their own fault.
Most people wouldn't even bother checking their quota because they'd just assume once they go over the limit their site will be unaccessible. Heck a lot of people wouldn't even understand what bandwidth IS.
It's not their fault the provider didn't do their job properly to begin with and I doubt any reputable provider would hold them responsible for what was essentially their own stuff up to begin with.

Let's see what happens if you buy a bog standard Commodore and they accidentally deliver a Caprice.

The thing is, your not a moron right?
You obviously own a computer correct?
Can you store an unlimited amount of data on your on your PC? On any PC?
The answer is NO!
If you ever thought you could, and your plan was really unlimited, then no offense mate, but youd have to be a real dumbass!
When you signed up, especially to an Australian host, they would have specified the limit. Their mistake was not setting up the plans in WHM to reflect this. Your mistake was assuming the "unlimited" in cpanel was real.
If what they have done is set the real limit, then there is nothing you can do and this is a moot issue.
You should go through your emails, and (if you keep old important mail such as this) check out the original plan you signed up for. Im sure youll find a limit specified in there.

I love those unlimited accounts. I'll take one and host the world as add-ons.

I realise this, I was just referring to the earlier post about fraud. I was pointing out that I seriously doubt a provider could do anything about it since they made the mistake in the first place.
Regarding my actual disk space, I'm just ****ed because it was only when the space had almost run out that I was notified of the actual quota... which according to cpanel was only 1.5gig.
And thanks, but no, I'm not a dumbarse. You sure do behave like one though. No offense though mate. *rolls her eyes*
By the way, good luck attracting clients, with the sarcastic attitudes in here I'm surprised you guys have any.
