The good news is that this closes the price gap somewhat between US and Australian hosting. We might see more customers at the low end of the market spend their $$$ here instead of OS.

Bouncing back with a trillion dollars debt is gonna be a hard slog.
At the moment the USD controls a lot of things, notably resources (ie. commodities) which Australia is heavily tied to. From my perspective that means the Australian dollar gets burnt and why a lot of the economy moves with the U.S. market.
I reckon the whole world is getting to a point where the states is going to become less relevant and have less of an effect on every other market. EU is going through it's own fun but in doing so is kinda getting it's own unique movement about it. Either that'll mean the USD eventually plummets or things start getting traded in a different currency (we've got a bit of gold don't we?).

All ready happening!
Iran won't accept the green back anymore.
So what happens when the $USD is worthless buy Euros and Yen! Yen would be useful around these parts

Australia has heaps of uranium, why don't we buy our oil in that? Iran would be giving huge discounts if we did.

Haha - good one!
I don't think we need more reasons to send more troops over there, as much as what I believe in sending them over there to defend our country - i don't think uranium would be to go about it :P

The Australian peso plummets again. The 2:1 target still looks on track (ie .50 USD). Australia is becoming an island you won't be able to afford to leave .

Depends - Australia doesn't buy server parts in USD, generally AUD from a major importer etc, so they generally come from within Asia...
I've got a feeling that Dell will increase their servers soon so that Dell Inc keeps their Oceanic sales up when converting to USD at the end of each US quarter.

Doesn't mean they won't go up
I no that parts from places like www.centrecom.com.au have gone up heaps.
For example Q6600 from $209 early this year
And now $305 although it may also depend on who we get our parts from.
I guess it all comes down to who we get our parts from, if we cut out the us section of the supply chain out we should be alright
