Dedicated servers in China, Singapore and UK
|
|
Hi everyone,
Just wondering who has had experience in dealings with dedicated server providers in China, Singapore and the UK.
I'm finding it difficult to get anything decent in all of these countries, let alone anyone that has any sort of feedback to draw upon.
Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Cheyne,
We have servers in Singapore, if we can help in anyway let us know.
China is abit of a unknown area for most people when it comes to hosting
UK has some very good hosts/dc, it depends what you are looking for.
cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
Don't worry, you guys are already on the short list for Singapore. And thanks for the heads up re China.
In the UK I'm just looking for a good deal on a decent server spec (minimum 4GB RAM, Quad Core CPU(s)), and decent allocation of bandwidth.

I had a look at their site Nathan and it's aweful, let alone the server specs.
Why doesn't anyone deploy decent hardware setups in these countries? Or are they just hard to find?

Can't look past rapid switch in the UK. Brilliant service better than any other dedi provider I've ever dealt with in terms of notfying customers of issues. They've been unlucky with a few issues, but I suspect other providers have had the same but simply do not disclose them. They do custom quotes all the time if you have specific specs.

Might be best doing colocation and ordering gear from Dell.
This will generally work out well as their colocation market is similar to ours.

I had a server in china once... the DCs interconnect with Australia was less than 10mbits which is... fair enough I guess but the biggest problem was those storms in december 2006 that caused issues. Apart from that it was alright... it didn't go down much after the storm thing. I have a mate in the UK who uses Rapid Switch as mentioned here by SeN. I have a VPS that's hosted there and it's pretty darn good.
