Re: HELP! Internet Business

Well you could do as i would and do it till you got caught, what you got to loose if your gunna bail out anyway

Or you could find a loophole in the system of somehow recommending your site by following there t&c's

That or do like channel 10 and use subliminal advertising

Re: HELP! Internet Business

ebay doesn't allow you to link to anything that steers people away from the ebay site especially if the link leads to an online store. It doesn't matter how you go about doing it there are plenty of squealers on there and you'd be lucky to get away with it for a week at the most.

There's nothing stopping you from adding the link in any "follow up" emails to people who have already purchased off you on ebay.

Cheers Ros,

Though my tongue in cheek comment was not suppose to get your undies in a knot hehe.

The person who started this thread is worried about the rise and rise of EBAY costs he does not say anything about a loyal customer base etc.

So in theory he could be selling two items a week and calling it a business and now looking to save that what 3 dollars and go online EXCLUSIVE!

All I am saying is that its NOT that easy to start selling online your site is only 20% and the rest would have to come from MARKETING and of course WORD of MOUTH.

Deals Direct have spent over 850K on the last catalogue alone obviously a big player and should not be compared not to mention they had very very very very big import agreements even when they had everything running on ebay until ebay did something dirty to them.

The idea that someone had of offering exactly the same product on a Ecommerce site and on EBAY just bigger % that sounds good.

More over the OP is worried about "And, secondly, If there is no other way whats the cheapest eCommerce domain provider available that you guys have found, and works best for your business?"

Too me that sounds like the person wants to expand without paying too much. If he wants to make money he needs to spend it.

Reality check /Rant over

Yes I agree that this may be the case and the OP didn't include any detail about the volume of his selling on ebay.

Totally agree with you there Choppy, hence why I advise my clients to advertise and tell people about their site. So many have the unrealistic theory that "if I build it they will come"

My point with Deals Direct was they started off small like most sellers on ebay, I remember when they started, over time they gradually signed bigger import agreements and offered a wider variety of products, and they became big players with a huge customer base.

Yes indeed it does sound that way and too many people have that mindset these days which is why alot of businesses fail, in particular online businesses.

Cheers

EBAY pays million in marketing fees to get people to buy your things on ebay. Its not as straight forward as just building your site.

Unless you have something unique that people will search for and you know you wont be beaten to the punch by EBAY advertising etc then go for it.

All the other trolls in the thread just want a buck for your hosting and design.
Ah the voice of reason ... I guess that's the point I was trying to make in my first post, but I should have been more explicit.

Arguments about how much disk space the OP will require are just red herrings, there are more fundamental issues like marketing that must be addressed in order for the business to succeed. The amount of disk space required is a mere technicality.
