what im trying to say is, making money by running unauthorized game server, does it usually lead to legal issues?

Blizzard prohibits you to run private servers. It is breaking their EULA.

Anything which you don't own your copyrights in internet is illegal .. but in private servers your info is safe than public shared hostings ... public shared hosting will ban you next if you have such kind of stuff. i think you can run unauthorized game private server because many people are doing this from many days

you contradict yourself a bit there.
first you say that if you don't own the rights to it, its illegal... then you say its ok because other people do it.

most private game servers for MMO's are run illegally.
if the legit server requires you to pay money to play the game then there is a very good chance that you are not allowed to run your own private server.
