What's a good Windows Email Server?

Hi,

I am looking for a good email server to install on my server and low cost.
I have a Windows 2003 Web Edition.

Thanks.

Re: What's a good Windows Email Server?

Depends on what you mean by low cost.

Some products include:

MailEnable
SmarterMail
HMailServer

Haven't really touched anything else, although HMail and MailEnable offer free versions.

SmarterMail does offer a free version, but it is for single domain use only. If you wish to use it for multiple domains, you need to purchase the licence to do so.

Regards,

Dale Evans

Re: What's a good Windows Email Server?

Thanks for the reply. I will be running less than 5 domains so looking for an email server less than $200. I have used the free edition of SmarterEmail and likes the functionality bit pricey as the minimum purchase for SmarterEmail is $299.

Re: What's a good Windows Email Server?

i'm running HMail (free) on my local server and like it.
It has a nice GUI for desktop application, but not sure about remote access. I think I saw it has something that can run through a web interface - it also uses a MySQL backend which could make developing a custom interface fairly easy.

SmarterMail is easily the best email server for windows available.

Talk to Netlogistics, I believe they may be able to give you a better price then what is on SmarterTool's website.

I totally agree with GavLewis. We have run Smartermail for over 2 years and now operate 6 Smartermail servers worldwide. We also resell smartertool products.
