First up - if you oversell your server space and bandwidth please DO NOT respond.

Looking for ideas/leads of good overseas based hosting, prefer US based but will look at other options.

This is required as my current US based host is not satisfactory... Sorry about the detailed requests below but want to avoid getting into another unreliable provider.

Requirements;
1. Unix based hosting
2. Reseller account - but this will NOT be used to resell accounts, it is simply for my own many domains and I want to have full cpanel accounts for each domain, hence the reseller account request (add-on domains are not sufficient) - again I am NOT interested in reselling, been down that road before and not what I want to get back into.
3. Must have PHP5 and Mysql5
4. Space - minimum of 5GB, more is better
5. Bandwidth - minimum 20GB, more is better
6. Must be reliable, all host providers details will be checked on WHT (US and AU) for positive and negative feedback
7. Will require non web area access to enable backups via cron from my Aussie Server based web sites (tar size is only about 250MB at this stage for three files with only very small increments each night)
8. SSH access is a plus but not essential

Budget - nothing really set in stone, this is where I want hosting providers to provide me detail of what they have on offer. You can either reply here with details, provide a link to the plans on your site or PM me the details. Please also advise if your prices are AUD or USD.

Again I cannot stress this enough I am NOT interested in any host providers that OVERSELL, so if you do oversell please DO NOT reply.

Re Overselling - can you advise how many accounts then are allowed on the one server, in that I mean if you have reseller accounts with unlimited accounts available is that not overselling or is the number and size of the resold accounts controlled by the CPanel WHM to the size, space and bandwidth available to the reseller - i.e. to prevent a reseller from overselling.

but we can offer you your exact specs for $150/m, on a completely not oversold dedicated server, and I can prove that by saying you would be the only one on the server...

What the hell is with the mods deleting posts! None were off topic, it was related and was confirming my need for a host that does not oversell as per my title - an over zealous moderator maybe?

WOW! who would have thought my title would have sparked that much controversy for a simple request of no oversellers?

If I may let me give some background for my request.

I have over the many years used a variety of hosts both in Australia (Aussie based Servers) and overseas (mainly the US, but also the UK). During that time I have found some half decent and some very terrible hosts, and in fact every single one of them oversold their accounts/servers. That was until I found Netlogistics (NL) and have been with them for a couple of years now and will stay that way for quite some time - but that is covering my Aussie based hosting.

While NL do provide US based hosting I am not too happy with their plans for their US based servers so hence I have come here and simply asked for what else is around. I would have thought that the idea of overselling was clear and that there would be quite a few hosts that in fact DO NOT oversell - maybe I am wrong...

I am simply trying to find an honest host that provides what they have and not what they don't. I don't care if your at the top of the tree or your a reseller of another provider as long as the server I wil be on will not be oversold and over used (Ram, CPU etc).

While I'd love to get a dedicated the finances are not there to cover that (unless anyone wishes to give me one :P ) and as my OP states I am not interested in reselling any accounts, it is for my own domains and that is it (whether you believe that or not is not my concern) plus as stated backup of my Aussie Based web sites.

I am amazed of the bickering that the word 'overselling' has caused and as one other poster has stated in the other thread it very much tarnishes the reputation of those that were ding the bickering.

Sorry, but I can't resist ... all webhosters oversell (*), it's a fact of life. What you are looking for is a webhoster who is only overselling to a reasonable level, and there are quite a few of those on here (most, I'd say).

Sorry for the distraction; but it's a vital distinction.

(*)Eg if you have 200Gb of disk, and 5Gb accounts, by strict definition if you sell more than 40 accounts you've oversold - however, the actual reasonable capacity is around 200 accounts, and a large machine could hold 600 with no issues at all.

Even then, you could have 40 accounts that run demanding apps and use more than your allocated amount of RAM/CPU cycles. Grr, not this debate again!
