It's definately shopped.
Who really believes you were zooming in to "look at the edges".

Not to mention who gets all happy and smiles over a bloody printer.
It's not like it can print money,

Re: Amusing DC Photos

I was digging through my photos from over the years and couldn't find anything too amusing, although I found a bit of a blast from the past from September 2002 while setting up kit in the Level3 DC in San Jose.

Looking back it's hard to beleive there was a time you'd only put six machines in a single rack, or consume 10U with a single content switch (the big white thing with cables in the middle bottom, Arrowpoint CS11800 from memory, a company that was later bought by Cisco)!

Yeah 1RU servers now have amazing power for there size. Switches can only be so compact as you need space for all the phyiscal network ports.

For a minitue there I thought the servers where about to topple over but then I noticed it is a bunch of spliced together photos.

I think it was nine photos and the stitching software was my mouse and paint shop pro :-)

... can never get far enough back to take a photo of a full rack with a standard camera!

I wonder if there are any Zero-U switches out there? .. can't really see why such a thing couldn't be made... lack of demand perhaps.

This is were your wrong, I've seen switches that are also built into the PDU. So it runs top to buttom in your rack.
Quite interesting, However they're probably not worth the expense.
