can you recommend a good payment gateway?
|
|
Hi, we are looking for a good payment gateway. Currently we use Paypal, we are pretty happy with it, but just want to see what your thoughts are and if there is another gateway that is cheaper for example and yet still reliable.
Thanks
capow

It depends on the volume of your transactions as to whether eWay, eMatters, etc are better value. For smaller volume, PayPal is much better value, but as soon as you start running through a few thousand $, I think eWay etc would be better value.
I've never had a reliability issue with any payment gateway. I've used eWay, eMatters, WorldPay, PayPal and PayMate and all worked fine.
Cheers,
Joel

Really? Have you had issues with them? I've never used them but if they're dodgy, it's good to know.

Thanks for the info guys, I spoke to Chris from eway this morning. Currently they offer a discounted yearly rate if you display their logo on your site. Seems like a good deal. Also the note about securepay, I was considering them too, do you have any more info about them please? Good or bad.

capow,
We have been using eWay for quite some time now (over 12 months from memory) and believe their solution is absolutely fantastic.
When it comes to integration, most systems integrate easily with eWay, including WHMCS (if you are doing hosting services), OsCommerce, ZenCart, Interspire and more, plus eWay have the added bonus of being able to easily add features like Fraud protection (known as Beagle), Direct Debit and Refunds etc all from the one interface.
Their support team is also fantastic!
They come highly recommended by us.
Cheers,
Dale E

Forgot to ask, if anyone uses 2checkout.com. Would they recommend them? I know they are not Australian, but just intersted to know any feedback about them.

G'day Capow,
My idea is to stick with only those gateways that plug straight into WHMC so if I have a problem with them I can move to another supplier with very little hassle.

I would stay away from them, we used them a few years back and they just do not provide enough flexibility.

Sure have. I'm very close to filing a formal complaint to ASIC, and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Some of the things they've done have been awful, and I have very little trust in them. If you want to talk more about it PM me.
eWay are willing to listen to negotiations too, so if you have a huge transaction volume talk to them to see what they can do for you.
