Im thinking about going back into the hosting biz as a hobby, Ive contacted a couple local Datacenters around AU and I've managed to secure some good deals, tell me, is this a good price list for boxes, or am I getting ripped off?

Umm yes those are cheap prices but stuffed if I know how they can offer them in Aus

Actually after thinking and writing that I looked again and see that it is not 200GB they offer but 2000GB so I can definitely say those boxes are NOT in Aus

They were AU DCs the IT guy I went through said. We are meeting again later this week to talk about it further....

Considering that data costs suppliers a minimum of around $1.10 per gb in Australia, I don't think you're quotes are accurate

Thats what he sent me in the quotes file. He might of meant 200 and added a extra 0? I dunno. As long as its a AU DC and he can prove it, I wouldnt care if its 200 GB Bandwith.....

Definitely US based.... even that sort of pricing without the bandwidth is low for Australia, with that amount of bandwidth it has to be the US.

Don't mean to shoot you down but you're saying 'thinking about going back' but missing some rather important baseline components. Firstly, what sort of network is connected to and which one?

It ain't always about the price and focusing on that has undone a LOT of hosting companies. I'd strongly suggest some heavy research on 'good prices' both here, webhostingtalk.com and other associated sources to have a better understanding as to how things have changed since you were in the industry.

I'm not missing important baseline components, I just have decided to share it with you guys yet. Once I verify these servers are at the specs listed and is in a AU Datacenter, I shall proceed to launch a host which I will make a deal with the Datacenter to be able to resell them under my label for any clients to buy. All details will be on my site if this guy is for real. If not, I have a backup plan and a deal with another AU host for boxes...

Im thinking I will have locations in: USA, Germany, AU and EU.

Now for teamspeak and ventrillo, a GSP here in AU can provide me prices at: 15 cents a slot for TS and 20 cents for vent a slot.

If I may ask, which DC are you getting these prices from?

No. These will be in 4 Locations. USA is SoftLayer/Host NOC (Already got IPs), EU through EuroServers (Got IPs), China through EuroServers with AU DCs and hosts. I should have a AU DC secured in a few days. Ventrillos are provided by Nation Voice Datacenters around the world.

SoftLayer is great - have used them on many occasions.

Once you get off the ground again, or secure a DC; get in contact with me, I may have a proposal for you
