RED5 is the flash media server.

    1. Download the tarball: http://www.red5.org/downloads/red5/0...2-java5.tar.gz or http://www.red5.org/downloads/red5/0...2-java6.tar.gz to a suitable location on your system.

    2. Move to the directory where you saved the file, then unzip and untar it: tar -xzf filename.tar.gz

    3. See the directions on the download page: Red5 v0.8.0 Release Candidate 2 02.03.2009 - Red5 Wiki

    Grey Brother, when i try:

    echo 'export JAVA_HOME=/opt/jdk1.7.0_25' >> /etc/bashrc

    I get the error message:

    -bash: ../bashrc: Permission denied

bashrc has root permissions. Are you running this as root ?

Try "whoami" from shell and you can see who you are.

I am not sure if you are root yet.

    Try:

    #sudo su -

Enter the password for the sudo user "djkfunk". If this user has root sudo permissions, you should get the root shell:

    Try:

    #whoami

    Should say "root".
