    weird issue with TPP Wholesale API error in WHMCS
    Ok so I've just started importing my tppwholesale domains into WHMCS and so far so good .. about 95% are imported (manually) without any issues.

    However a small number of domains just get a "401 cannot connect to registry" errors, over and over. And it seems to be domain-specific. Only a small number of domains seem to be affected and no they're not expired or with another registrar, they're current and ausregistry's whois shows TPP Wholesale as the registrar AND they're in the correct tpp reseller account same as every other domain..

    Has anyone else seen this before?? Or knows what the issue might be?

    The only thing I can think of is that these may be old inherited planetdomain domains we resold through PD before they were overtaken by Netregistry/TPPWholesale BUT with that said, whois output does show TPP Wholesale as the registrar or record just like all the other domains which are importing without issues.

    With these few domains that refuse to communicate to the registry (401 error, no further details) the client side WHMCS also shows "401 unable to connect to registry" when the customer tries to manage the domain via the WHMCS interface..

    Whatwhat ?!?!

    ok .. just found a commonality between these domains that refuse to communicate.

    On the TPP Wholesale system the domains usually have an account reference number such as ID00223344

    However a few domains have a reference like ABC-123 and these are the domains that are unable to communicate. What the hell??

    moved one of the affected domains to a userid in the normal format and unfortunately that didn't fix it. What a weird glitch.
