SYDNEY, 3 February 2015: Leading Australian web hosting provider, Crucial, today announced it has acquired AVS Networks, one of the nation’s oldest domain hosting and registration companies.

Sydney-based Crucial has acquired AVS Networks (NSW) in an agreement which will see all AVS Networks customers move across to Crucial’s award-winning platform. The acquisition will also see Crucial strengthen its position in the small business hosting sector, with the addition of AVS CEO and founder, Nigel Burke, to its team.

AVS Networks customers will migrate to Crucial in early February, allowing them to benefit from greater service availability and speed, thanks to Crucial’s 24x7x365 technical support and its enhanced technology stack, which includes 247 DDOS protection and the award-winning Blaze Cloud platform.

Crucial CEO, Ijan Kruizinga, said the announcement is great news for the Australian hosting market. “Our team is excited for the two businesses to come together. Nigel brings a huge amount of capability to the Crucial team, having achieved a great deal in his 17 years at AVS. His experience will be invaluable to us as we push forward in 2015.”

CEO and founder of AVS Networks, Nigel Burke, said he is looking forward to joining the Crucial team. “Crucial sets an excellent standard for quality Australian hosting, with a similar culture and ethos to AVS. The acquisition will benefit AVS customers with added resources, fantastic support and high performance infrastructure – it’s a win-win.”

Mr Kruizinga said a detailed migration plan has been developed to ensure that all AVS services are transferred to Crucial with no disruption to customers.
