Plesk Help

I'm having problem with Plesk Site Preview. For some reason it resolved to invalid host name. However, it works on some domain and doesn't work on some. Support suggested to run this command :

websrvmng --remove-all
websrvmng --reconfigure-all

Still doesn't solve the problem...anyone else using Plesk in here and if there is another way to view site prior to propagation?

Cheers

Re: Plesk Help

You can create an additional host header in IIS for something.yourdomain.com and point an "A" record at the server IP.

Re: Plesk Help

Thanks brenden, will try to do that now (will it work if server IP is a shared IP)

Another question, If I have domain.com with A records to exclusive IP is there any reason why the IP doesn't show the website (when I type in IP on the url)? It works on some and it doesn't work on others (for sites with exclusive IPs)

Cheers

Re: Plesk Help

Might be that some other IIS entry has a "default address" host header so this means that when you type in 222.222.222.222 (where that is the IP) another profile is picking up the host header.

One way around it is to edit the iis header entry directly.

Re: Plesk Help

How do I check the default address host headers (I only have 6 sites on the server - I've checked on the DNS settings on plesk one by one and they seems correct)?

Can you edit IIS header via plesk?

Thanks so much brenden.

Re: Plesk Help

No, jump into Remote Desktop.

Start > Run > control panel [enter]
Open IIS

In the IP feild make sure that only the default IIS site has "All unassigned" as the IP value.

Go to the profile with the static IP.
Right click > Properties > Advanced

Where is saids "multiple identies for this website"
Make sure you have 222.222.222.222 where that is your unique IP for this site listed in there with the tcp port as 80. Leave host header value blank.

[OK] everything out.

Go to http://222.222.222.222, please CTRL + F5 and you should see the site your looking for.

Re: Plesk Help

Thanks Brenden,

I think it was the missing blank host header on my shared master IPs that does the trick. Site preview is working now...

Got problem with protected url via plesk now not working properly...I don't know if I like plesk now...
